Pork whole piece 6 kg in the oven
Great alternative to store bought sausage. This dish is enough for a week.
You can make sandwiches, or you can serve it as a second dish with different side dishes.
Today with mashed potatoes, tomorrow with spaghetti or rice. In general, your choice.
- Pork ham (with skin) – 6.5 kg
- Oregano – 2-3 tablespoons
- Salt – 2-3 tablespoons
- sunflower oil – 150 ml
Wash the ham thoroughly and dry with paper towels. We pierce the ham in several places, but not completely.
We cut the skin into a square, as in the photo.
Salt. Then we mix oregano and sunflower oil in some container and carefully coat the whole ham.
We find a container in which this ham will fit, cover the container with cling film and put it in the refrigerator for a day.
The next day, it is better to take the ham out of the refrigerator an hour before cooking. Let stand, and then wrap the meat in double foil.
We put the oven at 200 degrees C, the mode “Top / bottom with convection”
When the oven has warmed up, put the ham there and cook at 200 degrees C for exactly 30 minutes.
After half an hour, we switch the temperature regime to 160 degrees C. And we cook exactly 5.5 hours.
