Rice with onions and spices. Great side dish for meat, fish or chicken
Let’s continue with the rice theme. In this article, we already figured out how to cook rice properly (link here). And many complained that the rice is bland. Rice can also be salted after cooking. Or serve it with the sauce in which the main course was prepared.
Or flavor rice with this recipe:
- Rice – 240 g
- Water – 250 ml
- Water – 50 ml (for the sauce)
- Onion – 1 medium onion (100-110 g)
- Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon
- Red ground pepper – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – 1/4 tsp
- Sunflower oil – 2 tbsp.
- Butter – 10 g
1.Wash the rice
2.Then add water (250 ml)
3.Put on a high heat, as it boils, reduce to a minimum
4.Cook for 15 minutes (everything is as in the recipe at the link)
5.Turn off the heat and leave the rice to rest for 10-15 minutes without opening the lid.
6.For now, let’s do the sauce. it is cooked simply, but at the same time it gives the dish a great taste.
7.Pour 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil into the frying pan, put 10 grams of butter and onion sliced into half rings (or feathers, or a quarter, as you like) there. Cooking on medium heat.
8.Fry the onion until soft, stirring regularly so as not to burn. Add soy sauce (1 tablespoon), salt, coriander and red pepper.
9.Mix everything until a homogeneous color and add water (ideally, meat broth or stock would be better)
10.Bring to a boil and turn off.
11.Add cooked rice to the frying pan and mix.
Everything, the side dish is ready!
